The challenge is how to capture the depth, the movement. In my abstract, acrylic paintings, water sometimes looks like water, but it also sometimes looks like space or sky. Honestly, it’s not something I always control. Some paintings just happen.

You'd think I stilll lived in Canada, the way I keep painting these stark winter scenes. There's something pure and untouched about the paintings I can create with a palette knife and mostly white (and a little blue) acrylic paint. In real life, there'd be more detail, footprints, whatever. My paintings are more like memories; only the important stuff is there.
