What I love about water – ocean, lake, river, waterfall – is how it is always changing. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même. Change is inevitable. The challenge is how to capture the depth, the movement. In my abstract, acrylic paintings, water sometimes looks like water, but it also sometimes looks like space or sky. Honestly, it’s not something I always control. Some paintings just happen.

DESCRIPTION:
It was October and these apples (no clue what kind) eventually turned out to be delicious in a pie made by my brother's wife. They weren't beautiful (too many blemishes), but who cared? I just liked the look of them on their front step (and later the taste of them in Gloria's pie). This painting won a Red Dot (Best in Class) at the Art Students League Class Show in January, 2009.
