This painting started with my memory of the sky reflected in the water off the coast of Iceland. Added to that was my daily view of the winter sun reflected in the cold waters of Spuyten Duyvil. It took almost three months to paint this; I kept finding more things to do. And, of course, I kept having to wait for the masking fluid to dry each time. There are probably about 20 layers of paint.
