The freezing cold, never ending snow and relentless wind. Winter in Canada can be brutal.  It's been cold in NYC lately (it IS winter afterall), but not like my childhood memories from Canada.  As I painted this, the image looked colder and more bleak with each layer. And yet I loved my winters in Canada.  I used to stand at dusk with my back to our house mesmerized by the wind and the snow.  Snow storms still captivate me ... though there haven't been any to look at in NYC in a loooong time.
