The challenge is how to capture the depth, the movement. In my abstract, acrylic paintings, water sometimes looks like water, but it also sometimes looks like space or sky. Honestly, it’s not something I always control. Some paintings just happen.

Although this could be a beach or a desert, it's actually a variation on what I see many nights from my living room window: the sun going down behind the Palisades partly reflected in the Hudson River. It's African colors superimposed on my view.
