The challenge is how to capture the depth, the movement. In my abstract, acrylic paintings, water sometimes looks like water, but it also sometimes looks like space or sky. My friend, Sandy, and I went for an afternoon walk around Swan Lake on the Rockefeller estate just north of Sleepy Hollow, NY. It was a beautiful day with the sun showing through the trees reflecting on the water. What had been a quiet, reflective, sleepy kind of stroll suddenly became dramatic when the Canada Geese abruptly took off.
