My fascination with waterfalls, starting with a 2012 trip to Iceland and continuing through a 2019 trip to South Africa, doesn't wane.  Do you paint the rocks first, then add the water? Or the reverse? With this painting, I painted them both at the same time, then added more details to both later.  It's a meaningful question, since I am working with water-thinned acrylic on raw canvas. Like the waterfall itself, the acrylic can be translucent, transparent or opaque, depending on how much water is added and how many layers are added.
