The challenge is how to capture the depth, the movement. In my abstract, acrylic paintings, water sometimes looks like water, but it also sometimes looks like space or sky. Honestly, it’s not something I always control. Some paintings just happen.

The rolling hills and cypress trees of Tuscany are really beautiful in September, albeit in a rather understated way. It's after the harvest, so the colors are mostly brown and gold, and you can see the furrows left in the ground. This is just the first of what will likely be many paintings based on my many, many photos and memories.
